| Applied Kinesiology is a recent medical science developed within the chiropractic profession by Dr George Goodheart over thirty years ago. Taking into consideration muscular interrelations and muscle/organ relationships, together with central nervous system dysfunctions (neurological disorganization), it allows a diagnostic evaluation and physiological therapeutics. Through this new diagnostic help and therapeutic approach, Applied Kinesiology evaluates and corrects body dysfunctions developing along our modern life. It also prevents disease and maintains health. General Approach Most muscular spasms are secondary and not primary. This observation was the base of Applied Kinesiology. The study of weaknesses of specific muscles or muscle groups (structural language of the body) has opened a new field of investigation and comprehension of the different mechanisms regulating the body functions. This body language lecture is of major interest. Furthermore it is enhanced by the existing relationship between viscera, generally silent, and the muscles which represent the viscera language. Even though not every weak muscle has a weakened associated organ, every weakened organ has a weak associated muscle. In many clinical situations, a careful Applied Kinesiology evaluation gives a very fine diagnostic evaluation coming as an addition to conventional medical diagnostic tools. This muscular response, correctly analyzed by a specialist, is an original diagnostic element in relation to modern medicine. It allows a better approach to disease. Therefore, facing a muscular weakness upon manual testing, the first step will be to determine its fundamental and specific cause : - Neurological disorganization - Interference with its : - Lymphatic drainage - Venous and arterial circuit - Cerebrospinal fluid relationship - Peripheral nervous system - Related acupuncture meridian - Specific nutrition Treatment Based upon the different diagnosis so established, different therapeutical options will be applied. For many causes of human body dysfunctions, the solution is simple and quick. The human being has an innate potential for recovery of functions and healing by physiological homeostasis. In other terms, the body can heal itself ; very often, disease is only the expression of a blocking of this capacity at one level or another. The understanding of this phenomenon leads to the treatment choice; these treatments will most often be stimulating in nature, by opposition to the substitution treatments, which are the rule of modern medicine. Disease prevention and health promotion A complete analysis in addition to the sophisticated examinations of modern medicine will enable detection of dysfunctions which might otherwise be missed. By means of this new approach, we have a complementary help to discover and treat not only the conventional classical medical diseases, but also the " functional , " psychoaffective and other nonspecific ailments, insidiously modifying life quality, and on which conventional therapies show little effect. A dysfunction eliminated in its primary stages, even if it is clinically silent, could avoid chain reactions that might lead to disease. |
